FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When you work with ninebar, there are two ways we are happy to structure pricing: Flat Rate Pricing: We quote you a comprehensive price for your project before work ever begins, ensuring that there are no surprises in pricing at the end of the contract. Our quote reflects the complexity of your project. We’re experienced in everything from designing business cards to designing and developing large-scale websites, so each quote is individualized for the project at hand. Hourly Rates: If you request work that falls outside the scope of the original project, or if you need ongoing work, we are happy to negotiate hourly rates.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we send you a proposal that includes a quote for your project and relevant examples of our work. Next, we send you a project guide. The project guide details what ninebar is going to do for you and serves as a roadmap through the design process. If you’re working with us on a graphic design or web design project, we then send you a questionnaire and schedule a new client meeting. During this meeting, we discuss your ideas and your must-haves, and we nail down the specifics for our initial design direction. Then, we’re off to the races! ninebar is collaborative, communicative and engaging. We’re fun to work with (if we say so ourselves) and committed to the timely, professional delivery of a final concept or product. Our work responds assertively to clients’ diverse needs, and our process seeks always to make the path a joyful one.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
ninebar was founded in 2012 and we’ve worked on hundreds of projects. Our team consists of three creative professionals: Nic, Jasper and Alex. Nic is a UNC Asheville graduate with 13 years in Asheville under his belt and five years working in pre-press and print production. He’s the developer on the team, and he knows his way around large format printers as well as he does the back-end code of a website. Jasper is an Asheville native, graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in architecture before moving back to the mountains. His years of managing and marketing for restaurants inform ninebar’s work with an efficient understanding of the way hospitality, retail, and production converge with design. Alex grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill before moving to Asheville in 2011. She worked in public relations and communications for education and small businesses before joining ninebar in 2019. She understands the value of helping clients maximize their resources in order to market themselves in efficient and effective ways.
