FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of a Christian Chefs Association who provide seminars and an annual convention to keep us abreast of new trends and train in new tecniques. Also the American Culinary Federation where I receive certifications in for curriculum completion. I have received certification in Fine Dinning and Bar and Beverage Service.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I realized about my second year in the industry that I am not a restaurant chef. So in school I set myself up for this line of work. Its not that I cannot do the work in the restaurant. In fact I have been for over 7 years now. I am from the country of NC and it has taught me to love the comfort of personal relationships and being able to sit back at home and enjoy family. You don't get that in a restaurant. The chef doesn't no prepare a meal specifically for you and yours nor do you get to have a one on one with them and share your likes and dislikes. I like building lasting business and personal relationships.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common jobs I have had since starting are small parties. Most of my clients have contacted me for baby showers family dinners and things like that. I also have a catering company that does larger events. The largest one most recently was a retirement party of about 150 guest.
