I have 14 years o experience in repairing new furniture for major furniture stores, factories and insurance companies.
Typical repairs include nail polish damage to wood, cigarette burns, crushed edges and corners (including veneer covered fiberboard), scratches on wood and leather, dents, broken spindles and legs on chairs, finials (missing and broken), chunks out of furniture (with or without missing pieces), pet chews, etc.
