Lori was very patient and provided excellent guidance during my lesson. I was a bit nervous as the first and last time I rode a horse was once 40 years ago, Lori stayed close during the tack/untack and riding to ensure I was ok.
Jeff and the instructors at Three Cedars are very knowledgable and passionate about Natural Horsemanship. They practice it everyday in everything they do. Three Cedars is a wonderful place to take lessons and learn all aspects of a horse, more than just riding. They teach you all aspects of a horse, from hoof up. If you want a place that is comfortable and very relaxed to learn about horses and country life, stop by Three Cedars and check it out!
My experience working with Dana Dewey has been the most helpful equine related experience of my life. She has provided so many opportunities that have helped me become so much more aware of myself, what I am doing to help or hinder my horse. The reactions of my horse as I practice what I have learned are wonderful. She is much more happy and responsive and balanced. When I first went to Dana I was not balanced on my horse, I had lots of tension and was in pain as I rode. Now, I had ridden a long time and thought I was a pretty good rider. Dana has helped me to ride, for the most part, rather comfortably and effortlessly. What ever my challenge, she guided me to a solution.... among others would be, choosing the best bit, getting my saddle balanced, and many lessons incorporating centered riding techniques. Dana brings in outside professionals with extra instruction with things such as Centered Riding, body awareness and movement, etc. I am now a certified Centered Riding instructor, certified to volunteer as part of a search and rescue team and what fun I am having! Dana is "full service" and always has put forth her best effort to help all her students to learn and get what they need. What more could a person ask for??
I have been riding with Renie for almost 13 years now and you won't find another trainer like her. She is knowledgeable, thorough, compassionate, and caters to different styles of learning. Renie and her daughter Tori can teach riders of any level and expand their knowledge of riding along with horsemanship skills. Renaissance Farm has a family atmosphere and is truly a fun place to be! There are riders of all ages to make friends with and great lesson horses. Even if you just want to visit - come school! We have a ring with show quality jumps and a derby field available for schooling. The farm is beautiful and the horses get the best care you could dream of!
Kelly instructed my 9 year old special needs daughter in therapeutic horseback riding. My daughter loved working with Kelly and I was very comfortable with Kelly's knowledge of safely handling the horse and my daughters special needs. She was patient with my daughter, but also pushed her to learn how to ride and steer on her own. The horses/ponies that Kelly used for lessons were very tame even when my daughter would scream and act out, her pony would just remain very calm and wait for Kelly to lead her on. We discovered that my daughter has lots of environmental allergies that contributed to us having to stop lessons until we develop a better treatment plan for those, but if we were to ever start back riding we would hands down use Kelly again.
Very professional and nice. I love the discipline and respect my girls are learning for horses. They can't wait until their next lesson.
