- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was an art major in college and began doing web design as a hobby. I realized that I enjoyed mixing my design skills with the more technical aspects of web design. When I began working for a Computer Services company where I helped people learn to use their personal computers, my boss started to offer my web design services. When that company closed, I began doing freelance web design on my own.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We specialize in setting up customized websites for small businesses and non-profits (special rate). These are often the first time these companies have had a website, so we advise on what they might like to include to best capture the attention of prospective clients and customers on line. We work closely with the client to fit design and budget needs. We also do a lot of updating of existing sites. No job is too small.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your research.. know what you'd like to accomplish with your website, know if you want to be able to update yourself, know what style and colors you like.. BEFORE you talk to a web designer. Having to make changes later will cost you money.
