Introduction: Anyone can slap a magnetic sign to the side of their car, and call themselves pet-sitters. We are different. We are incorporated with the State of NC. We also teach pet-sitter classes in dog CPR and first aid. We have 20+ years combined experience in pet-sitting and another 20+ combined emergency medical experience. We are fully insured, and provide the best-equipped pet taxi in the area. Pet-sitting and dog walking are not easy jobs, but highly rewarding. We have been clients of Andromeda Pet Services for about a year and we can highly recommend their pet sitting service. James is extremely conscientious and he has taken great care of our cat Izzy. We don't like boarding Izzy since he gets extremely anxious in unfamiliar places as do most Maine Coon cats. We trust James without reservation to take care of Izzy. He also brings in the mail and newspaper and makes certain all is well in the house, which is very comforting when we are away. If anything is even slightly out of the ordinary, he makes certain to contact us by text message to let us know what's going on. We have used their services about four time over the last year and couldn't be happier. And we don't have to inconvenience neighbors or family to take care of Izzy.

James and Katy have been caring for my pups for well over a year. From the beginning they have been remarkable in the care they provide and the knowledge they have about pet care. They have been around to help train my sweet and lovable but challenging Siberian Husky pup as she attempted to rule the household or providing loving attention while I am out of town (in my home doing over nights or in their home). Taking them to the dog park and helping the Husky work through her shyness and become more secure and social with strangers. The biggest thing I have James and Katy to thank for was making me aware of a tumor growing in one of my pups anal glands. Because they do regular gland expressions for my dogs they are familiar with the dogs' anatomy and it was clear that the mass that was felt on this occasion on the Husky was not present the time before. I took her in immediately to my Vet and upon examination of the dog she confirmed and described the mass exactly as Katy had told me she had felt. We saw a specialist and had surgery- all this in the span of less that 2 weeks. I am happy to say that the mass was benign and life is all back to normal for my Blue eyed girl. Had it been malignant though, early diagnosis would have been critical. I love these guys and the pups adore them! They are always happy to see them and go for sleep overs at their home! ;-)

James and Katy have been a great help to me as I work an hour from home, so it is impossible for me to run home in the middle of the day. They have come to let my horses and goat in or out of the barn before or after bad weather. I had an accident one night between my dog and a stray cat who wandered onto my property and James and Katy came to the rescue! There we were on the road at 10pm that night helping this poor kitten....and glad to say the little guy made it through! If it weren't for James and Katy coming to his rescue he was so traumatized I do not think he would still be alive today. What more can be said here....every county should have a James and Katy and their Andromeda Pet Service!

We recently used the pet sitting services of Andromeda for the 1st time and were extremely pleased with our experience. James took on a huge job for us of watching our crew of 8 miniature schnauzers, a papillon, two new born puppies and 2 cats! When James came out prior to meet us and our crew, he didn't hesitate one bit to take on this task while we took a weeks vacation. We could tell right away from his visit that he truly has a love for animals and is very knowledgeable with their needs. He went above and beyond taking care of them and even taking our newborns to the vet for us for their 3 day visit. Everything we asked of him was handled superbly and professionally. He knew I was very nervous about leaving our pets this long with someone we had just met and he was sure to keep in touch with us through text to give us updates and ease my worry. When we arrived back home from our trip, all the mail had been brought in and our pets were waiting patiently and happy for our arrival back home. I will definitely be using Andromeda's services in the future and would recommend them to anyone who wants to be able to go on vacation without worry. Thank you again James :)

We recently got back from a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas and did not have to worry one minute about our pets care. We decided to use Andromedia Pet Care so out pets could stay in their home on their schedule. James was wonderful, he really seems to have a love for animals! He was willing to care for our 12 year old German Shepherd, 11 year old house cat and 2 pet rats just as we would if we were there. Even though we were unable to be reached for most of our vacation James knew exactly how to care for our pets should an emergency come up. We will definitely be using Andromedia Pet Care in the future and highly recommend them to everyone. You will not be sorry if you choose Andromedia to care for your pets!

For example, if you are going on vacation for an extended period of time, we offer a discount to make cost of being gone for so long not so unbearable!! We offer military, law enforcement, and frequent customer discounts as well. If our prices seem unreasonable for your specific situation, please contact us and we will be glad to offer a custom pricing plan that may fit your needs.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
James Owens is the owner of Andromeda Pet Services. He has been in emergency services for 15 years, working in all departments including fire, law enforcement, rescue, and radio communications. He has extensive special driver training. James has held a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician certification, and is also a Dog First Aid/CPR Instructor with the American Red Cross, as well as being an Instructor for several human phases of training. He lives with his four dogs and horse in Lincoln County, NC. Katy has been an avid animal lover her whole life. She has a natural ability to handle all types of pets. Katy is attending college pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology. She is currently a veterinary assistant, and has 8 years of experience in pet sitting, kennel work, and clinic work. Katy lives in Charlotte, NC and owns four dogs and two cats, all of which are rescues. Allison Medlin comes to us with 4.5 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician, groomer, kennel supervisor, and pet sitter. She has also held a North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician certification and is a veteran of the U.S Army. She has experience with a wide variety of animals and animal emergencies. Allison is married with four kids, one dog, a guinea pig, and 3 birds. Dustin comes to us from the emergency medical field. He is certified as an Emergency Medical Technician and served in this capacity for over six years. He is also a highly trained driver specializing in emergency vehicle operations and has completed courses such as EVOC and BLET Driver Training. He has been a pet lover all of his life but he especially loves dogs. He has rescued several animals throughout his life and will never hesitate to take in a stray. He lives with his three dogs in Cleveland County.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We handle every sort of animal job, from dogs that have been involved in car accidents, to routine daily dog walks. We handle basic grooming as well. We also take care of horses and other large animals!! We perform dog walking, and can refer clients to trainers for more problematic dog training problems.
