My name is Nick, I am owner of Oak City Coatings, here in the Triangle.
I help homeowners, business owners, property managers, and contractors achieve high-quality paint and coatings project results by focusing on customer service, fair pricing, and most importantly, quality results. I started Oak City Coatings to help clients by solving problems and providing solutions unique to each project. In turn, increasing customer satisfaction in initial and long-term results.
I spent more than a decade working for Sherwin-Williams in both management and outside sales, serving customers in both residential and commercial markets. I realized my passion for helping my customers went beyond the paint store and decided to bring my knowledge directly to your doorstep.

Nick was very professional to work with. We had an instant quote when we met with him. He was able to instantly see issues that needed to be addressed before painting could be done. We loved being offered a warranty as well. Juan was the main painter. He was professional as well and did a great job. Paint crew was very neat and never left a mess which was greatly appreciated.

I strongly recommend Oak City Coatings to anyone looking for painting services. We used Nick and his team for paining the inside of our retail store and also for painting the exterior of our home. The estimate process was simple, straight forward and options were explained. Nick really knows the Sherwin Williams paints and what the right paints and caulk are for every application. We found Nick's estimate fair and competitive in the market. Once pollen season wrapped up, the team arrived and worked efficiently to complete the work. Everyday the crew informed us of what would be happening in the morning and checked in each evening prior to departure. They kept things tidy. When they were complete they did a full walk about with us to review their quality work. Nick is also personally very responsive when called and is focused on the details. A HUGE bonus is that having a color guru help you pick your colors is part of the cost and it was an amazing experience selecting our colors. Again, I highly recommend Nick and his team.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is unique to each and every customer based on each individuals wants and needs. We customize each estimate to fit your goals and your budget by offering custom tailored options and solutions.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our Process:
1. Get a free estimate: To book a spot in our schedule, we require a 25% deposit & authorization by signature to do the work described in the contract.
2. After reserving a spot with us: We will be in contact with you to start talking about the initial steps and a potential start date. On this call we will also address any other concerns or details that need to be managed prior to starting work on your home.
3. 4 weeks before the start date: We'll provide test patches for you to ensure that you like your color selection. For exterior jobs: at this point we will also provide anything you need for approval from your HOA.
4. Once you have selected your colors and they have been approved by your homeowners’ association, it is time to schedule a rough start date!
5. The week leading up to the job you can expect phone calls to keep you updated on the estimated start date and any changes due to weather or unforeseen delays in our work schedule. Please keep in mind that we can see all four seasons in one day in North Carolina, so we request that you understand your start date may change slightly.
6. Before starting the job, we will power wash the house for all exterior jobs.
7. During the job, we will let you know what time you can expect us to start work each day. We will talk with you daily about the progress of the job and any concerns so we can address those right away.
8. At the end of the job, we’ll take you around the house to do any last touch-ups before we ask for the final payment. We would also appreciate it if you would fill out a short survey letting us know how the process was for you. Your feedback is very valuable to us! We would also appreciate any referrals or a reference letter to express your satisfaction with the work we do and with our company.
