Concrete Rose Design

Introduction: My design and art career most likely started way back, when I was 3. But I found my love for graphic art when I was in the 11th grade. The whole idea of taking a hand drawn picture and spicing it up on the computer excited me and I knew then what I wanted to do. When I first got to college(Graphic Design & Advertising Scholarship) I was thrilled to be on the path way to my dream of doing art for a living. But as time went on, I started to hate school and how controlling the professors were. I couldn't expand, and it was college that taught me that art was all in the eye of the beholder. I was starting to hate the thing that made me; me. At that moment I felt like a normal 19 year old that didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. So just as quickly as I started school, I ended it and dropped out. I started a job at Ralph Lauren. Not the pretty side, the warehouse side. While working there I knew I didn't want to do this my whole life, but it changed me for the good. Working behind the scenes for one of the best fashion designers of our time made me fall in love with fashion even more. I always loved it, but didn't know the work behind it. So I created a clothing brand called EQUALNOX CLOTHING CO. In starting a clothing brand, I fell back in love with branding others, and making them look the part. So I created CONCRETE ROSE DESIGN as well. The name and idea come from there being beauty in the struggle. I strongly believe the journey is as important as the goal. So I find the process of design is just as good as the final product, even though that process is not always great, the outcome is almost always good. Like a rose growing from concrete. I look at design like a rubix cube. My job is to solve the cube so the client doesn't have to but there idea is put together. Design also offers a new challenge every time. No design project is the same, so that forces me to be more and more creative.
