FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When possible, provided there is a defined scope, I try to work on a flat-rate basis so that the client can adequately budget for a project. When working on an hourly rate, I am very mindful to ensure that the client gets the most out of every moment spent. All new clients / prospective clients receive a complimentary consultation of up to one hour.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Human Resources - At least 60 recertification credits every three years, of which 15 credit hours are in Business Management and Strategy. Writing, Marketing, Business Management - Regular reading, webinars, and seminars regarding trends and evolving best practices.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I sold my prior business, Velocity Trade Exchange and was in the transition phase, it took some of my time but not all of my time. It started off as former clients hiring me for projects that they knew I would be good at, such as marketing and operations strategy, rewriting web and collateral content, etc. I enjoyed it so much I continued on the path. I'd previously had my PHR certification from 2002-2008 but was unable to maintain the continuing education requirements with the demands of a completely different business model of running a barter exchange. In 2013, I obtained the Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certificate to refresh my HR credentials and feel confident in providing services under that umbrella as well with the ever evolving nature of the regulatory scope of employment practices.
