- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am taking a Skillshare class to firm up my InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and map-making skills. I read MediaBistro and the Nieman Journalism lab, along with a number of design sites daily. I'm a member of Fizzle, a collective of online entrepreneurs, many who are writers, podcasters and media people like myself.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
We are not all here as hacks. Even though it doesn't always matter how you tell your story, you can always get new ideas. Even though I love the colors I chose for my own logo, I'm always looking at new typefaces. Also, I used to be afraid of making speeches and going on TV as well. However, I always remember that media conversations are really just conversations with people who are your friends, but just broadcast to the entire world. Oh and you don't have to say anything you don't want to say.
