FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
bookkeepz works on monthly retainer engagements, not hourly billing. Most clients sit between $199 and $349 per month for the standard service package: bookkeeping, payroll, S-Corp tax planning, and year-end return preparation. Pricing depends on the size of your practice, transaction volume, and which services you need. No surprise fees. The retainer covers what's in your engagement letter. If scope changes (catch-up bookkeeping for prior years, a complex multi-state return, audit support), we price that separately and quote it before any work starts. Free 30-minute intake call to scope the right package.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
bookkeepz onboards clients through a clear five-step process: 1. Free 30-minute intake call to understand your practice, current setup, and what you need from a CPA firm. 2. Engagement letter sent for secure e-signature. It spells out exactly what's included, the monthly fee, and the timeline. 3. Client portal access so you can upload documents, send messages, and review work without email back-and-forth. 4. Document checklist + tax organizer to gather prior returns, financial statements, business formation docs, and anything else needed for a clean handoff. 5. Bookkeeping software setup or transition (QuickBooks Online or your existing tool), bank and credit-card connections, and the first monthly close. Onboarding typically wraps within a couple of weeks once we have your documents in hand. After that, bookkeeping runs in the background, and we reconnect on a regular cadence for tax planning, quarterly estimates, and year-end work.* *This step assumes that, in addition to bookkeeping services, a client engages us for tax preparation and planning.
