FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing for my services vary and depend on the type of case.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Give me a call or send me an email to schedule a consultation, where I will sit down with you personally (over we can set up a consult via phone if that is preferable), learn more about your situation, answer many of the questions you may have, and strategize a plan to move forward with your case. I do spend a great deal of time litigating cases, and litigation is a necessary step for many. However, I am committed to achieving my clients goals outside of the courtroom as well. It is very possible to reach a desirable resolution in many cases without prolonged litigation. While no attorney can guarantee any specific resolution, I can assure my clients of the following: I will always listen with compassion, as I recognize how litigation and legal issues may interrupt and alter the lives of those involved; I will consistently and faithfully advocate for my clients position, and do all that I can to facilitate a resolution without undue emotional stress or unnecessary tactics; and, I will provide professional, competent and comprehensive services to each client, from beginning to end.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am licensed to practice law in North Carolina, the state I have called home all my life. Raised in Asheboro, I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I studied journalism and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. My passion to help others in tough circumstances drove me straight from college to law school, and I earned my law degree from Charlotte School of Law. I am a North Carolina Notary Public, and an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA), Mecklenburg County Bar Association (MCB), the Family Law and Young Lawyer's Divisions of the NCBA, the Family Law and Criminal Defense Sections of the MCB, Iredell County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Charlotte School of Law Alumni Association, and the University of North Carolina General Alumni Association. I regularly attend Continuing Legal Education seminars related to my practice areas to stay on top of the latest developments in the law and also to expose myself to as many hypothetical situations I can that I may not have previously experienced in my practice. I am also a certified Guardian Ad Litem for the 26th Judicial District (Mecklenburg County) and serve as appointed counsel to those who are the subject of incompetency and guardianship proceedings.
