- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first goal with a new client is to connect with her. Discovering their personal style is an organic process. Some clients may have rigid ideals about clothing, colors, and prints. While other clients are a blank canvas. Yet, each client has a visual asset that can enhanced with proper fit and color. My goal as a stylist is to educate and encourage my clients so they have a better understanding of their own unique personal style.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My love for clothing began when I learned to sew as a pre-teen. My mother let me play with her barely used, almond colored, Singer sewing machine. I was self taught and determined to learn about clothing construction. I started tailoring my own clothes when I entered my first professional job at an office. My taste surpassed my budget but I knew that simple alterations to the clothes that I could afford could make them fit properly and look more expensive. Still, I craved higher quality fabrics and construction. It was then when I discover my passion for designer level fashion. Clothes that are truly worth the cost because of superior fabrics and exquisite finishings. Educating my clients on the value of designer clothing, not for the label or trendy name, but for the soundness of the investment in pieces that will last, be worthy of tailoring, and able to elevate their personal style to match their own goals or station.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The clients that I have worked with understand the value of their time. Typically, my clients are woman that are successful in their careers, or are preparing to take a risk and making a change in their field. Both these clients know that appearances matter and first impressions are essential in communicating who they are and what they want.
