Kathryn was willing to come out to our facility (Keith Family YMCA) to do a workshop for our Fashion themed summer camp on a short notice. The campers had a wonderful time and went home having had a new experience that Kathryn had a hand in creating.Aug 23, 2019VerifiedStyled by Kathryn's reply
Thank you so much for the review! I had a blast with those lovely young ladies. Their trash bag fashion show was fantastic and so very posh! Thank you for sharing them with me.
Katherine took an intimidating process for me of getting a whole new wardrobe for an interview and new job and made it fun and easy. I never would have gone to a consignment store on my own, but we went through the whole store in no time and I ended up with a whole new wardrobe!Sep 28, 2017Verified
This was the best thing I've ever done for myself! Kathryn was delightful to work with. She is very efficient in how she uses her time with the client and gives great advice on color, scale, balance, what your wardrobe needs, what should be donated, etc. Excellent and affordable!! Oh, and she also completely lined out what outfits I should wear each day for an upcoming event. I'll be hiring her again in the fall!!Apr 12, 2017Verified
Kathryn has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She is warm and friendly and manages to strike the perfect balance between having fun and working quickly and efficiently to make your wardrobe useful and exciting again! We did a closet purge, and it was just the gentle push I needed to get rid of some of the things I've been hanging on to that just don't work for me. Kathryn took a whole bag to consignment for me and another bag for alterations, which she returned to me just a few days later! She put together clothes I already own to make outfits that I would never have come up with myself, and now I feel like I have so many more options!! After the purge, she also created an awesome personalized shopping list for me with links to many items that would work for my style and within my budget. I'm now in the process of adding a few key pieces that are missing to make my wardrobe even more versatile and complete. I would recommend the experience to anyone! I only wish I had done it sooner!!Dec 21, 2016Verified
Absolutely FANTASTIC experience! Kathryn is so wonderful. She helped me not only transform my closet and drawers, she gave me super insight on my wardrobe, what works and what doesn't, and even pinned certain items to be tailored to fit me better. I can't wait to have her back to go through my husband's wardrobe! I so wish I had taken a BEFORE picture, but here are some after ones.Sep 13, 2016Verified
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? My first goal with a new client is to connect with her. Discovering their personal style is an organic process. Some clients may have rigid ideals about clothing, colors, and prints. While other clients are a blank canvas. Yet, each client has a visual asset that can enhanced with proper fit and color. My goal as a stylist is to educate and encourage my clients so they have a better understanding of their own unique personal style.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?My love for clothing began when I learned to sew as a pre-teen. My mother let me play with her barely used, almond colored, Singer sewing machine. I was self taught and determined to learn about clothing construction. I started tailoring my own clothes when I entered my first professional job at an office. My taste surpassed my budget but I knew that simple alterations to the clothes that I could afford could make them fit properly and look more expensive. Still, I craved higher quality fabrics and construction. It was then when I discover my passion for designer level fashion. Clothes that are truly worth the cost because of superior fabrics and exquisite finishings. Educating my clients on the value of designer clothing, not for the label or trendy name, but for the soundness of the investment in pieces that will last, be worthy of tailoring, and able to elevate their personal style to match their own goals or station.
- What types of customers have you worked with? The clients that I have worked with understand the value of their time. Typically, my clients are woman that are successful in their careers, or are preparing to take a risk and making a change in their field. Both these clients know that appearances matter and first impressions are essential in communicating who they are and what they want.
