Introduction: Wonderland farm offers lessons in English hunt seat equitation. It is riding by balance, not by sheer strength or force. Riding has great benefits for children and families. Riding is a healthy outdoor sport. It can be enjoyed alone, in a group, or as part of a team or family activity, and this enjoyment can be lifelong. We offer lessons from ages 5 thru adult. All levels are welcome from beginners thru advanced. Adult beginners are especially welcome. So no matter what your age or skill level is, give us a call, and come explore the enriching experience of the equine partner. We have quality lesson mounts. Wonderland Farm has the largest selection of quality lesson mounts available, both ponies and horses. Whether you are an experienced rider competing on the show circuit, or someone just starting out, we have the right horse for you. Our instructor holds a BA degree in equine studies. Karen Halpryn Mealey, owner and head instructor, received her BA degree in equine studies in 1990 from Virginia Intermont College, and has 20 years of teaching experience. Stephen Watson, assistant instructor, is a former “A” circuit rider. Stephen assists in training the young horses, as well as teaching from youth to adult at all levels. He is also in charge of Saturday saddle club. We have excellent facilities. Situated on 106 acres, the farm includes a lighted 150 x 260 ring with sand footing, full set of jumps, round pen, 2 show barns, hot and cold wash rack, and a lounge area for relaxing and socializing. In addition to lessons, the farm offers school break and summer camps, boarding, professional level training, sales, and horse shows. We also have several horses available in our lease program.
