FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not have a complicated pricing system. Most services are provided on a flat fee basis - not on an hourly basis. Being able to give clients a price upfront lessens the anxiety of dealing with a lawyer and receiving monthly bills. I do not send monthly bills.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am required to attend continuing legal education courses to maintain my law license. I also choose to be a member of the Estate Planning section of the NC voluntary bar association to stay informed about estate planning and estate administration rules.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
A lot of my clients have old, outdated or out of state estate planning documents. I assure people that just because their documents are old or they were not created in North Carolina does not mean that they are not acceptable. I review documents to see if they accurately reflect the client's wishes and if they meet legal standards. If they do not, I work with clients to prepare documents as part of their plan to ensure their wishes are stated.
