FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually quote $125.00 for an hour but that is really for anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half if it is a birthday party. For business events or block parties, I do not just double the price for the second hour; I give a price break when I am to be there at least 2 hours; for example, if an hour is $125.00, then 2 hours would be $50 more for example. I try to give a special break on price to churches or assisted living type facilities.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Any opportunity I get to go to workshops to learn more about clowning, I will travel and have even spent an entire week at one such seminar a few years ago in a state two states away from me.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was doing volunteer clowning with some friends at work and a friend of my daughter's asked me, "Do you do birthday parties, and how much do you charge" and I said, "You mean, they pay people to do this?"
