Project scope
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Individualized care. I take on a limited number of projects at once. This allows me to go through every inch of a piece of furniture giving it the attention to detail that is needed. Specific concerns or requests are welcome and my processes can be customized fully to your needs. The transformation. Even pieces of furniture that look like they are ready for the dumpster can be given a second chance. So long as furniture is originally built with quality materials, a careful refinishing can make any piece like new. Bringing beauty back to worn furniture is an enjoyable process to be a part of.

Matt was very professional and did a great job on refinishing my chairs. He brought me samples of the paint & stains before hand. He picked up and delivered and work over the holiday weekend giving me the quick turn around I was looking for.

Matt's work was beautiful. He restored an antique dressing table that had been in my family for several generations. There were multiple layers of various colors of paint on it, and Matt restored it to the original mahogany wood. Theres no trace of the layers of paint or damage. We can barely believe it's the same piece of furniture!

Our pecan kitchen table had seen its better days after 25+ years of heavy use. Matt stripped the original finish, eliminated the multiple water glass marks and other mars that had accumulated over the years, and made the table beautiful again. His prices were very reasonable, and he was courteous and on time. Highly recommend!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Price is dependent on the piece. What kind of condition is it in? Does it require lots of repairs? Does the old finish need to be completely stripped, or can it be recoated with touched-up areas? Are you looking for a painted or stained finish? Do you want any special finish techniques applied like distressing or glazing? How big are the items? Do you need pick-up and delivery? Can you provide a photo of the items? Answering these kinds of questions helps me to give a finalized quote faster. Many times I ask for more information before giving a price at all.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I typically respond to a request on Thumbtack with a ball-park estimate. After talking over the details of the project with the customer, we agree on a final price, timeline, and arrangements for pick up and delivery. It is helpful when the customer provides a color sample for me to reference when matching stain colors.
