FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We typically charge on a per song basis once we understand what will be involved in developing, producing, recording, and mixing a song. For a typical singer/songwriter looking to record a 10-track CD, our rates are typically $200-300 per song for recording, mixing, and production services. We take whatever time it takes to get it right. If we need addition of other musicians, SnareBuzz Studios has collaborations that can bring in everything from guitars to bass to drums at a typical rate of around $50 per instrumentalist per song.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our recording process with a new customer starts with a discussion which helps to define the goals of the recording project, the desired timings for finishing the project, and the target audience who will receive the project. Once we have that out of the way, we typically start our process by simply sitting down with each client and having them perform some of the songs they wish to record to us...it can be as simple as vocals only, guitars and vocals, pianos and vocals....anything really, to help us understand the song the way it is in the clients mind. We then start to work with them on each song developing the groove, countermelodies, hooks, etc. that take the songs as they are and really sonically adds to them. Our creation process is comfortable, inspiring, creative, and most of all, highly enjoyable...check out our feedback!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an engineering degree from North Carolina State University and years of experience in recording and performing music in both live and studio situations. I have recorded everything from high school choirs and orchestras to singer songwriters who wish to have a fully developed band sound behind their music. We do it all and we do it well...come give us a shot!
