Introduction: My mother, Linda Morgan, started the business in her home in 1989, and it was known as Linda's Screenprinting. The company printed t-shirts, sweats, hats, and signs. I was working at Cairn Studios as a mold maker. Wanting to be self-employed, I left that job in March of 1995 to join my mother in the screenprinting business. We changed the name to Alpha Screenprinting and rented a building at 205 N. Tradd St. That year, we bought an Ioline Studio 8 vinyl cutter and started to produce vinyl signs, along with the screenprinting we were already doing. We changed the name to Alpha Signs & Screenprinting to reflect that we were doing more than just printing t-shirts. Business grew and in 1999, we purchased a commercial embroidery machine. I took training in digitizing, so we could duplicate customer logos in-house and convert them to embroidery files. We changed the name to Alpha Signs & Embroidery to reflect this new service. However, we continue to make custom signages and screenprint textile goods.
