About this pro

How does your business stand out?

My classes are fun and informative. I give one-on-one training. Our facility is clean and comfortable. I give additional information to my students that no other instructor does.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I love my students. I haven't met one student I haven't liked. I just enjoy teaching. It gives me great satisfaction watching my students faces as they learn new things. They always tell me I was the only CPR instructor who was so thorough.

Joanne at Action CPR is awesome!
Joanne was very friendly and knowledgeable. She responded to my inquiry almost immediately and was simply excellent in every way. Her sense of humor made it fun too. I would recommend Joanne and Action CPR to everyone.

I'm so grateful to Joanne Fried for the CPR/AED/First Aid Training she provided me. Many years ago, I had certified in CPR by training on "Resuscitative Annie" ... or something like that. In Joanne's class, the equipment was much more sophisticated, and she had each of us practice the most up-to-date techniques until we knew it cold. She provided detailed handouts, which were helpful for personal note-taking.

Joanne helped me out when I couldn't make my hospital's blitz for my BLS renewal. Her classes are very convenient in regards to location and times. She also provides practical knowledge in the rescue situations. Thank you for the concise hand outs too!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $55 per person for BLS Healthcare CPR or for Heartsaver CPR. I also train in Heartsaver Workplace and Pediatric First Aid. I charge $65 per person for an individual, or $45.00 for groups.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I belong to the AHA, and I am constantly staying on top of the guidelines. I just went to my training center to review the new guidelines for 2010.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I became a CNA and realized I didn't enjoy that work, so I decided to teach. I had to be certified in BLS Healthcare to become a CNA, and I decided the two classes I went to, I walked out of them scratching my head saying, "I will never do CPR." It's amazing how many instructors there are out there.
What types of customers have you worked with?
98% of my work is in the healthcare field. I do go to professional healthcare offices and do group training. I also give group discounts.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I just trained 19 people at a local Eye Center. Since training them, they now know how to use an AED and advanced airway.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You should have Action CPR perform your BLS and Heartsaver CPR Training because we believe in making sure everyone knows how to do CPR when they leave our facility by giving one-one-one training, and state-of-the-art equipment. Other facilities do group training, and do not pay attention, and just hand out certificates for the money. At Action CPR, we care!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Because I want everyone to know CPR, and I want to teach them. I feel it's important in this day, that everyone should know how to save a life.
