Introduction: I'm a 38 year studio, session, concert musician. I play keyboards, harmonica, sax, drums, bass, guitars, and several other instruments. I've played in all but a few cities in the United States, generally playing in quite large venues. I've also played across 3 countries.
I do not read music to teach by, but I'm prolific at reading charts. I have a very large understanding in using midi, although I don't believe I know anyone that knows it all, as midi is very complex and once understood, you can perform a massive amount of control over several instruments and how they can be recorded.
I also use several sequencing programs on both PCs and Macintosh systems. I teach the art of recording or engineering. I've taught several people using different instruments, and I do have a criteria in choosing who I can and will teach.
I write a great deal of music, so any budding musician must have a natural God-given talent and a large hunger to learn. I have several 5-star musicians that, upon reaching their potential working with me, I introduce to many options to further their musical growth, meaning these players are all top- shelf at reading music, notation, and the likes.
I appreciate more than words when a student is capable of taking his or her learning experience and excel. I'm able to teach most of all genres, less so in the Classical as I don't have the theory that is imperative to playing that style.
Also understand that with the cost of fuel, any and all travel expenses must be included. Sad but real!
