FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based on the type of service requested, the length of the visit, the number and type of pets, the location, and the level of care required. Walkin’-n-Waggin’ is a professional pet care company, not a casual hobby-sitter service, so our rates reflect reliable, experienced care from Pet Care Professionals who focus on safety, consistency, communication, and peace of mind — not simply being the cheapest option available. Standard pet sitting and dog walking visits start with our base visit rate. Additional fees may apply for extended visits, multiple pets, special care needs, holidays, last-minute bookings, excessive travel, or services requested outside of a normal visit. We also have experience with leash work and behavioral support, especially for dogs who need more structure, confidence, or consistency on walks. When appropriate, we can discuss those needs separately and determine whether additional time, handling, or training support is recommended. Overnight care is available, but our overnights are structured from evening through morning and do not automatically include midday visits unless those are scheduled separately. For recurring dog walking clients or clients who book multiple visits, we are happy to discuss the most cost-effective care plan for your household. Before any service is confirmed, we will clearly explain the expected cost so there are no surprises.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Just as we personally vet every team member we bring onto our team, we also personally meet every prospective client during a free in-home Meet & Greet. During this visit, we get to know you, your pets, their routines, personalities, medical needs, feeding instructions, favorite activities, and any special concerns. We also learn the “lay of the land” — where supplies are kept, how doors/gates/security systems work, where pets should be during and after visits, and anything else we need to know to care for your pets and home properly. This also gives you the opportunity to meet us, ask questions, and understand exactly what our services include before you book. Once service begins, we follow a detailed care routine designed to give you peace of mind. Depending on your household’s needs, that may include fresh water, proper feeding, medication when applicable, checking on shy or reclusive pets, playtime, litter box care, cleaning up accidents, bringing in mail, monitoring the home, checking doors/windows/fence areas, adjusting lights, leaving updates, and making sure your home is secured before we leave. Our goal is simple: to make sure your pets are safe, comfortable, happy, and cared for as closely as possible to the way you care for them yourself.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Personally, I have more than two decades of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds, along with extensive experience working with dogs of different breeds, sizes, temperaments, and behavioral needs. In addition to direct experience, I have spent years studying dog behavior, leash handling, pet care best practices, and the importance of consistency, structure, and calm leadership when working with animals. Every Walkin’-n-Waggin’ team member is trained on our company protocols and introduced to the specific needs of each new pet and household before providing care. We make sure our Pet Care Professionals understand feeding instructions, routines, safety concerns, home access procedures, medication needs when applicable, and each pet’s individual personality. Our team members are also supplied with pet first-aid kits, have access to pet first-aid guidance through a smartphone application, and use our professional pet care software, Time To Pet, to help manage scheduling, visit details, communication, and care notes. Our training is rooted in experience, preparation, safety, and a pet-first approach to every visit.
