FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally price my work in one of two ways: 1) I bill hourly at a rate of $30/hr or 2) I bill by the project, setting a scope and providing an estimate before work begins. On large projects, I can bill progressively (monthly, as work is completed) or separate the billing into thirds, issuing invoices as project milestones are reached.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently served as the lead designer on a project to redesign website for five civic organizations in Hastings, NE. It was an incredible challenge creating five site that had a cohesive structure/design patterns while also giving each their own visual identity. The main portal site for the project (which I also designed) is ifewideopenhastings.com and includes links to each of the sites that were involved.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I'd advise clients to look for a web designer who has a background beyond the web. From doing print design or social media to marketing planning or copywriting, a designer with diverse skills in going to bring more value to your project.
