FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At the first lesson, I try to get to know the student and their goals and interests. I also assess their current skill level. Depending on their skill level, I typically will recommend a guitar method book that I use to help students gain fundamentals and mark progress. I try to create a fun and supportive environment where I balance introducing students to the fundamentals and working on songs and styles that they are interested in. I've found this balance helps keep things fun and motivating.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing guitar for 27 years. I've been performing publicly for about 25 years around the region with various groups.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had always received requests for lessons over the years and aside from a couple friends/family members I hadn't seriously considered giving lessons. In early 2018, I had a received a request for lessons and decided to do it. From that one request, it has ignited a passion to teach and mentor others on their journey to learn the guitar and meet their goals.
