FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to get to know the couple and to write an original ceremony based on what I learn from them. I believe that this should be special and not off a script. Contact me to discuss, depending on the details, I can be somewhat flexible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My preference is to meet with the couple and spend enough time, casually getting to know each individual and their experience as a couple. This typically is one meeting several months or weeks in advance of the ceremony and very casual over a cup of coffee or glass of wine. I will then go to work to write a personal ceremony and may ask preference questions of the couple along the way, typically this can be completed with a quick e-mail or phone call.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Officiating weddings is not my 'day job'. I started doing this for friends, soon it turned in to friends of friends and children of friends, and word of mouth grew. I did not go to school for this, I am not a religious minister, I don't have a degree in theology. I respect all religions and respect the right to not affiliate with a religion. I am licensed to perform weddings through the Universal Life Church and quite frankly, anyone can do that. What sets me apart is that I am a skilled writer and listener who can make your special day one to remember and curated to you and your partner.
