FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I photograph a lot of jewelry, pastries, meals, drinks and cupcakes during the week, while photographing weddings and families on the weekends. I love product and food photography as I get to design the look with the clients that baked them or created the products or with the advertisers that have a point to make with one image. This is a fun challenge for me each time. Then, on the weekends I spend time with families of all kinds photographing weddings, family portraits, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. Then sometimes I attend big events and I get to meet all kinds of other professionals. It is a great job that isn't a job.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for images that have good lighting with shadows in the right places. Look for sharp edges and blurred backgrounds and great composition. Images that have knowledge and experience behind them have some great attributes that make them stand out against inexperience.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Photography of people is very intimate and I wish people would take the time to have conversations about what they want, what they like, and how they are going to use their images before the session. Getting to know the clients is so critical to a session truly being about them.
