FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am continuously upgrading my personal and professional development for myself as well as my classes. I often beta test technology and I learn from the best.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was trained as a sculptor in a formal BFA program at Boston University College of Fine Art: a structured, conservative, demanding and formal program. That included drawing, anatomy, painting, design, carving, casting, scultping, and lots of related aspects. I had to take pictures of my work. I had an old film camera that I bought on the street and who knows where it came from! It was my link to the outside world and I loved taking color slides with it. As time went on, I became a graphic designer and I had to hire photographers. I found that they were sub-par to my needs so I took courses to understand why. I ended up taking more courses and eventually wining a week at the Ansel Adams Yosemite Photo week long workshop where I met very significant photographers. I eventually stayed affiliated with the program for 3 years and the rest is history. :) I came out a master photographer whether I liked it or not. Later, I found my visual voice in portraiture.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common kind of work that I do is Family, glamor, children, public relation, and then there is real estate for real estate professionals. I also photograph a dozen weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and events each year. I'm picky about which ones I'll take on because they take up to 40 hours to bring in and complete (when it's done right).
