Weve lived in our home outside downtown Portsmouth for 16 years, always knowing we wanted to transform our yard but never quite knowing how to make the space work. The terrain is tricky, the grade is steep and the footprint is small. Taylor and Phillip took one look and immediately saw possibility. They created a thoughtful plan that blended what we already had with smart new elements and truly maximized every inch.They handled every challenge I threw at them and built the most incredible, safe, and versatile backyard decks, builtins, planters, lighting, a doggy door and gates, a patio TV setup, and even a ninja course for our kids. The creative process was fun and collaborative. I shared Pinterest ideas, and they helped me balance creativity with practicality, durability, and budget.Philip kept the project running smoothly with clear communication and weekly updates. They stayed under budget the entire time, and he even researched things like the sound system, outdoor TV, and doggy door to make sure we got exactly what we needed.The crew was wonderful kind, communicative, and genuinely enjoyable to have around. They explained their decisions, worked efficiently, and were so sweet with my kids. Honeycomb has done a few projects at our house: a front deck, new exterior doors, assorted interior repairs. They are very professional and excellent with their work. My home and property were left free of debris and put back to rights after the work was done. I plan to hire them again in future for more projects (bath, flooring etc.).

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every project is different, so we price our work based on the actual scope, materials, and labor involved. We believe in being upfront about costs and providing detailed estimates so you know where your money is going. We're also happy to work through different options to help meet your budget. Our goal isn't to be the cheapest contractor out there. It's to be the most transparent and to give you quality work at a fair price, with no unnecessary surprises.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We usually start with a conversation about what you're looking to accomplish, followed by an on-site visit to get a better understanding of the project. From there, we put together a detailed estimate and walk you through the scope, costs, and timeline. Once we're on the same page (which can sometimes take more than one round of estimating), we get everything scheduled and start bringing your vision to life. We put a lot of emphasis on communication throughout the process because we believe you should always know what's happening in your own home.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our experience comes from hands-on construction, carpentry, remodeling, and managing projects from start to finish. We've learned that doing good work takes more than knowing how to swing a hammer. It takes planning, problem-solving, attention to detail, and understanding how everything comes together. We're constantly learning and improving the way we do things because there's always something new to learn in this industry.
