- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As an independent consultant in the IT area for over 15 years, I have installed, setup and customized financial packages for a variety of small businesses and have provided trained to business owners and their staff. In a desire to have less road time, I realize that bookkeeping and accounting is an area in which I enjoy working and made the decision to change my work focus. I have experience in non-profits, manufacturing, retail, service and construction industries.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I provide full-charge bookkeeping services: A/R, A/P, Payroll, Inventory, Reconcilliation, Trial Balances, and Reporting. Prepare and file Quarterly Payroll Taxes; Estimated Business Taxes; Sales and Use Taxes.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
This client sells customized/personalized product and wanted to be able to keep track of which designs sold the most. In running the client's P&L discovered that it was not reflecting correctly their Cost of Goods Sold. After analyzing their inventory system, realized that sales orders were not pulling product from the actual inventory at all, but from a customized inventory part that didn't exist. Reworked their inventory system to include customized assemblies that pulled from inventory. Their P&L is now reflecting correctly their COGS.
