Let me start by saying that I wish I could give Wayne 10 stars, but since I only have the option of 5, that will have to do. Our house is over 100 years old and we are preparing to paint the exterior again. Needless to say, we had quite a "honey do" list of odd repairs that needed attention. Clapboards that were broken or rotting, the railings on the front porch were falling apart, back stairs pulling away from the house, decorative trim that was rotting, brick foundation in need of repointing, new exhaust vents, and finally new doors. Wayne responded to my initial request in record time and stopped by later that day to give me an estimate. Of all the contractors interviewed, he was the only one that completely outlined the work needed with a full materials list and cost breakdown. Others were quite vague and wanted to repair or replace more than was necessary, turning the job into something larger than it really was. That is why I decided to hire Wayne, his straightforward honesty and winning personality sealed the deal. Wayne and his crew started the job immediately and completed it in good time. They cleaned up the yard after and disposed of all the waste materials as well. Earlier I mentioned the decorative trim, he had this ingenious product that was able to halt the rot and preserve as much of the original wood as possible because there would be no way to replicate the trim without spending a ton. This technique was also used on my kitchen bay window, which ended up saving me a fair amount of money in that area. Wayne also went out of his way to find a great deal for my porch door, I described what I wanted and he took care of the rest. Wayne also offered to come back and replace any clapboard that was questionable once the painter gets started. The other area where he excelled was the masonry. I actually contemplated doing the job myself, I'm so happy that I came to my senses and left that up to Wayne. He truly went above and beyond expectations. The brick foundation including the cement pad really needed help. Wayne fixed the grout as well as re-cemented the gap between the foundation and the pad, now when it rains really hard or when snow melts, the basement won't flood. Wayne had really good instincts and advice about tackling the different elements of our project. He approached the job as if he was the homeowner with a budget wanting to spend money wisely. I'm telling you, I can't say enough good things about Wayne and his crew at L & K Construction. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

As usual, John did a fantastic job on our stairs and hallway. He is an artist and craftsman, always with a great vision for every project. The bamboo stairway and wainscoting make the house look so much better. This is now our favorite part of the house. John never cuts corners and prides himself on doing whatever needs to be done to get the job done right the first time. He won't sacrifice quality, but he always does what he can to keep costs down. We had some paint we wanted him to use, but it had been sitting too long and the sides of the bucket were bleeding into the paint. We offered to get new paint, but he wanted to save us that cost so he strained the paint (something I didn't know was even possible) and used that. No one else would do something like this. We love his work and cannot recommend him more highly.
Renovate upstairs of my house into an apartment. My house is 200 years old. There were many surprises that were uncovered as the work was performed, resulting in a lot of additional work and numerous headaches. Jeff never ceased to amaze me with his ability to evaluate, adapt, and resolve problems. He and his assistant Bob, did a great job, never cutting any corners. They were completely thorough in cleaning up at the end of every day. They also performed a multitude of other projects including installing an exterior, steel spiral staircase and creating a beautiful set of steps out of old cobblestones at the entry of the house. I highly recommend Jeff.
Paschal and his associates did a terrific job on my back stair project, weather aside, was always prompt, easy to get in touch with and added the extras I appreciated. Value and quality was spot on and I will definitely be hiring him again for other projects.
Sean replaced my entryway stairs with new block caps. He was professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. And the stairs look great!
Clifford was professional and a pleasure to work with. The job came out good and I have already been getting compliments from the neighbors on how it looks. I hope to have the Carpenters back in the fall for my next project . I would have no problem in recommending them.
We needed carpentry work done on our home in a timely manner and Gil came to the rescue. Before a new walkway could be finished he had to repair an area where we had damage and the basement was open to the outside when the old cement stairs were removed. His estimate was accurate and the work done was exceptional. My wife and I would highly recommend Gil for any job large or small. He was recommended by the owners of Waterscapes who were adding, stairs, walkway and retaining wall.
We had a porch that needed repair and a new stairway. It came out much better than we hoped! Everything was done on time at the agreed upon price and everything cleaned up perfectly. Jim is a true professional and we will use his services again. We We
Genuis is defined as the ability to simplify the complicated. My experience is that Bruce is almost "psychic" in his intuitive ability to help you VISUALIZE YOUR PROJECT finished before it commences. A very impressive man, a rarity in these days.. He assists every which way as a builder, was an impressive presence as Supervisor of Maintence in Boston in his "school days," and even plays a mean Jazz guitar ! Always an exceptional Martial Artist since his interest began the 1970s , it is probable that his TAI CHI CHUAN experience, helped him develop a penetrating, powerful mind, making things happen in the real world, at a bargain to boot ! The truth be known he even has some fluency in foreign languages. The "MacGyver" of Construction Mgmt, BRUCE MONTVILLE stands for Quality and Quick Expert Solutions for anything you can throw at him... I have seen him in action...BRUCE ROCKS ! TURNAROUND time is on the NINJA level.
Jerry contacted right away to set up an appointment. He was prompt and took the time to talk to me about the process of installation of my new flooring. My wood flooring needed to be ordered so I have not yet had the floor installed. I will follow up with a updated review and pictures one the floor is completed. Can't wait!!
In the past I have always had trouble finding skilled and reliable carpenters. I was never fully satisfied with their work or they wouldnt show up or the prices were astronomical. I'm so happy I found Marcus of Cooke Builders! We hired Marcus and his crew to do our kitchen install and I'm so happy we did! He did an amazing job. He doesn't cut corners and is meticulous with his work. Our kitchen install came out beautifully! I was so pleased with his work that I hired him again for our bathroom renovation. Again he did a beautiful job, the tile looks great! We asked if he would add some crown molding and chair rail to our living room and he and his crew did a great job at that too. I refuse to use anyone else for carpentry work in our home! I hired Cooke Builders and have not looked back since. I highly recommend! If you want quality, reliability and honest pricing I suggest you look no further. My days of searching for that perfect carpenter are over, I found him and it's Marcus from Cooke Builders!
They were very respectful the whole time. Paul went out of his way to make sure everything was exactly the way I wanted it. Their work and attention to detail definetly spoke for itself and it was great because they handled everything so i didnt have to make a thousand phonecalls to different contractors..
