We met Ava and Larry four years ago at an outdoor concert that featured a Zydeco band with Ava and Larry demonstrating Zydeco dancing. As part of the program, they invited the audience to join them where they began teaching the basic steps. Although we were unfamiliar with Zydeco dancing, we joined in and had an unexpected fun evening learning these new dance steps. The music was great, the steps were energetic, and Ava and Larry's enthusiasm was contagious. We were so impressed with the way Ava and Larry danced, that we made a point of meeting them after the concert. They mentioned that they were offering Zydeco dance classes at our neighborhood library. We signed up, attended classes, and were very pleased with their teaching methods and patience with everyone learning the fundamentals of Zydeco dancing. They definitely have a positive way of making beginners feel comfortable and stay with them to give them the tools needed to learn the dance steps. The more we attended their Zydeco classes, the more confident we became and the more fun we had. In addition to their professionalism and dance instructions, they have winning personalities that make for an extremely enjoyable evening. With the training we received we have since attended numerous Zydeco dances in the area and have met many wonderful people which has opened up a new social environment for us that we thoroughly enjoy. We highly recommend Ava and Larry's Zydeco dance classes.
