FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had difficulty finding someone to care for my dog - he's a one person dog; extremely shy with other people (although he loves other dogs) No one in my immediate family wanted to help and close friends were not really "animal" people. The people I hired I didn't feel comfortable with and boarding was just not an option for this dog. I decided that other people probably had the same issues and felt that I could help by offering MY services. I sincerely want to help because I understand how difficult it is and I hope project the sense of trust and honesty I feel.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Typical walks for me are scheduled around lunchtime for those who work outside the home often with a fairly long commute. I do have clients that are incapacitated and help every day. Many times I visit a dog 3 times a day if the client is away from home for from one to even up to 10 days.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask for at least 3 references and follow up on them. You should get a real sense of the person by talking to several clients.
