We couldn't be happier with Douglas's work on our staircase and handrail. He refinished it with stunning new hardwood, added a beautiful oak handrail where one never existed, and trimmed both the floor and steps flawlessly. He worked long days, more than eight hours, stayed punctual, and kept us informed every step of the way. His dedication, fair pricing, and exceptional craftsmanship truly exceeded our expectations.

Our stairs were old and not safe and they built & installed new stairs! They were quick to respond, reasonably priced, and provided quality work.

I had an excellent experience with Step Higher Railings and Staircase. Douglas was professional from start to finish and showed up exactly when he said he would, which already set the tone. He was very responsive, kept me informed throughout the process, and made sure I understood what was being done and why.
What stood out most was his integrity. He was honest about pricing, offered fair and affordable rates, and never tried to upsell or push unnecessary work. The quality of the craftsmanship was just as impressive. The railings and staircase look solid, clean, and well-finished, and you can tell real care went into the work.
It is rare to find someone who is reliable, skilled, and trustworthy all in one, but Douglas checks all three boxes.

I reached out about having my staircase redone in the home I just purchased. I received a response almost immediately after I sent a message and after providing some key details and pictures I was able to receive an estimate. We became aware that I lived about 2 hours away, but that did not stop Douglas from taking the job. There was constant communication, which involved updates, some strategic planning and pictures of the process. I would have no hesitation to reach out again for future projects and recommend to friends and family.

I am going to upload some before and after pictures as well for reference
