Bryan started teaching my daughter Martial Arts when she was 6. I entered her into the MA because she was so painfully shy. I needed to do something to help bring out her confidence. Bryan did this. He worked with her and built her confidence one lesson at a time. By the age of 10, she earned her first Black Belt and was assisting teaching classes. At the age of 13, she earned her Second Black Belt and was teaching the smaller belt classes along side Bryan. My other three children also took classes with him and thrived. He is wonderful with children by being very PATIENT with them. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I am attending Bryan's boot camp workouts at 5:30 AM and also his evening workouts MW whenever possible. I am constantly impressed at his ability to keep his sessions as motivational as possible and he pushes us to our limit with just enough force to get into our minds. Bryan is a great trainer and is great with people in general. He makes himself available to his clients as often as possible and he is very detailed and encouraging no matter what the topic of conversation is. I really enjoy attending his classes and I am in much better shape because of it!

I researched several martial arts schools before choosing MAFC. My son was 3 years old and small for his age when he started classes. I was impressed with Bryan’s experience working young children. He engages them for the full 40 minute class. He gives individualized attention to each student. He helps develop their skills and build confidence. My son is very happy and enjoys class. We plan on continuing for many years to come.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Yes as a professional you must stay current and keep yourself educated. Martial Arts Fitness has been open since 2007 and I have completed 6 certifications and counting in fitness and health. I also am a student at the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology studying in the Physical Therapist Assistant associate degree program. I also train and study in education courses for Kettlebells, TRX, Functional Movement and more. It is vital as a trainer to always improve and sharpen your skills in order to provide the safest and most effective training environment for your clients.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Clients come in for a wide variety of challenges they are facing but the most common are weight loss, self-defense, and children's martial arts. Weight loss is very common goal for many clients as they are looking to get healthy and in better shape. Helping client reach their goals is our goal. We do this through proper nutrition coaching and fitness programs. Clients learn the skills needed to live a healthy lifestyle and enjoy the way they look! We believe that anyone can be successful when committed to a program that is designed personally for them and has the tools to meet their needs.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

This is a great question and one that I get asked all the time. What should I look for when hiring a trainer? Many times clients focus on the wrong things when looking to hire someone. Maybe they saw something on TV or a friend told them that a certain type of training was the best. When you consider someone to be your personal trainer, you need to make sure that they do a few things for you. First, do you feel comfortable with this person? This is very important and their needs to be trust between client and trainer. The client must trust that their trainer is going to do everything to keep them safe and help them reach their goals. A trainer needs to trust that a client is going to stick to and follow their program in order to reach their goals. A client must see results! Results are why you are training in the first place. Does your program meet your needs? Is it helping you to get where you want to go? Will you be able to learn enough so that if you choice, you can follow the program on your own in the future? You also must have fun! This is over looked by many and unvalued. How long will you continue down a healthy road if every time you step into the gym you are miserable? If you dread each workout before it starts, is there longevity in what your doing? If your trainer can provide these to you then you are started down the road to success and a lifestyle that will get you into the best shape of your life.
