Introduction: Come from a family of artist( My sister has been a major artist living in Paris, France and doing exhibits all over the world). I try and create each portrait like a work of art that will be more appreciated over time. I really like meeting people and enjoy the challenge of creating something valuable and unique. When doing commercial photography I try to create the most desirable photo possible through the use of lighting and camera position.

"Paul Jalbert is an excellent photographer and has worked with me on two very successful projects, in the last year. The first assignment was for Paul to take publicity photos for a country band I was working with on a farm for use with the band's website. The second assignment was to take pictures of me for my company's website. In both instances I was thoroughly impressed with Paul's professionalism and creativity and his ability to work quickly in order to get just the right lighting on his subjects. Also, he had the proofs for our approval within a matter of days.

Paul was one of the first photographers to respond to my request, and he offered the most reasonable price quote when I described what we needed. He was extremely accommodating and flexible with the scheduling of the photo shoot. His helpful suggestions, such as bringing a bouquet of flowers markedly improved the final photographs. His professionalism during the photography session moved us quickly from one pose to another. He took pictures of us as a couple and separately in two different outfits of clothing. Within an hour or so we were done and had over 250 pictures to review. We brought a flash drive with us and had all the pictures to go over when we returned home. Paul is friendly and easy to talk to; not long after meeting him I lost the nervous, self conscious feeling I had about being photographed. I feel this also improved the appearance of the final photos. I will definitely call on him again for future needs.

Paul Jalbert was on time and very polite. I requested that Paul take 25 head shots of my acting group. The session was great. Even though some of the actors were late, Paul waited patiently. The finished product was just what I wanted and I would recommend Paul to any one who needed a photographer.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Find out the purpose of the photographs and if there is anything in particular that they are trying to portray. Show them samples of my work to show them the quality, as well as, possibly giving them some additional ideas.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

The best way to improve your photography skills is through experience and attending seminars of photographers that have a proven track record. As soon as you think you know all there is to know your photography suffers.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I learned photography when I was in the Navy and have been doing photography ever since. Both in and out of the studio.
