Introduction

At JDT Portrait Photography my goal is make every client feel comfortable and know that I'm working not to give them a great photo collection. My goal is to capture these moments that you'll remember forever and turn them into amazing portraits that will make anyone who sees them stop and say "WOW". The "wow factor" as I call it, can't be forced. You need to be relaxed and comfortable. How many times have we heard "say cheese"? Hundreds, if not more, that's forcing it. No one likes to be forced to do anything. With JDT that's not what you'll get. I've been in this business professionally for 6 years, as a hobbiest more like 20. I've done all kinds of events and portraits. Newborns, maternity, weddings, family portraits, religious events...the list goes on. No two sessions are alike, each demands a certain type of care and respect. I love what I do, experiencing new people and different places allows me to keep being creative and grow as a professional photographer (there's always more to learn). Not every photographer is a good fit for everyone though. I won't waste your time by telling you I can do something then learn on the job. James did the newborn photos of our son and did both a creative and professional job. James was gentle and kept our little boy comfortable and cozy the whole time, all while presenting an artistic ambience. I would hire his skills again for future photo works.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started young having a mother who was a photography enthusiast. Professionally I started a club for students doing astrophotography. Moved into doing family portraits, events, newborns... etc. Doing newborn photography is some of my favorite sessions to do. Having done over 1,000 newborn sessions and I enjoy it more now then ever.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with customers from various different cultural backgrounds and ethnicities. All are welcome 😊
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look to see if they have examples of their previous sessions. Either posted on Thumbtack or another site they have linked. Check to see the background check is completed.
