- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I provide free estimates over the phone and remote. Clients outside the Union area, I do need to charge a small fee for gas and travel for an estimate, depending on location. My rate is $75/hour, charged only for what time is spent - I don't round up. If I work for 45 minutes, you get billed for 45 minutes. No games. I give 10% discounts for repeat customers and referrals, police/fire/EMS, teachers, active-duty military, and veterans.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I continually pursue professional certification exams.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been into computers since I was 7 years old. I helped my parents install a 5 1/4" floppy drive in our old 20mhz Dell 386. I was in my high school computer club. In college, I volunteered for a university community tech support organization and worked at the college help desk. When I graduated, I fell back on my IT experience and started working for a major medical diagnostic company in 2004. Since then I have worked my way up to systems administration, and I've worked at such companies as J. Crew, Maidenform, Tiffany & Co., and others.
