FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is based on word or page count: $4 per page or $1 per 200 words, which ever comes out least expensive for the customer. While I take into consideration the type of work and length of involvement, as well as other characteristics of the project, I rarely deviate from this formula as a generality. I'm acutely aware that not all authors share a common budget, and am more than willing to negotiate price with an author.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm probably one of few keep up with new additions to the Oxford dictionary. I also find the evolution of language fascinating; what was a hard rule before is now a suggestion (I'm looking at you, Oxford comma), while what was before meaningless has had meaning instilled into it by sheer repetition.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Editing really came to me. During college, I developed a reputation for having a keen eye while helping others with their work. I received high marks in my English courses, and my classmates would request that I review their work before we submitted it. After leaving college, I decided to hone my abilities and offer it to a wider range of authors.
