Introduction: I am an architectural historian with a very comprehensive collection of hand tools and reference books (things not found online) that have been collected over many years. What may seem like just a simple plaster or wood repair/replacement to most will be treated from an artistic/historical perspective first and then pursued in the most appropriate manner as to maintain the integrity, strength of repair, and vision of the original craftsman/architect/designer of your specific structure. Eric stripped down an old oak bedroom set that we had. He refinished the pieces in a rich brown distressed look. We put the refinished pieces in the quest room and it is now our favorite room in the house!

I am always learning and studying.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been good with my hands and repairing things. I was attending college when I took a job working in an antique clock shop to help pay my rent. One day the shop keep asked me to strip down and stain an old walnut grandfather clock case from the early 1800s. I not only did that but I cleaned and reset the old gears, dial, weights, and hands too. The clock began to chime. I was hooked.
