- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I took an accounting course in college and excelled. Then when I started work at a CPA firm, I got hooked on making the numbers balance for the clients.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most basic is to provide a reconciled general ledger for financials and/or managerial reports. Other common jobs are to provide backup for audits - federal/state and insurance.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you are comfortable with the person providing your accounting services. In the process of recording transactions, that person will learn your strengths and see any weaknesses. Numbers do not lie.
