FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take classes almost every month to enhance my understanding of writing craft and marketing techniques. I subscribe to magazines and belong to professional organizations to keep up with the latest marketing trends and tools.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I fell in love with reading and books in elementary school and knew I someday wanted to be a writer. I studied journalism, was a newspaper reporter, and later went back to school to get a master of fine arts in creative writing. After writing for newspapers, I worked for nonprofits, small and large businesses helping them with marketing and communications. I found I really enjoyed the challenge of helping clients figure out the best way to connect with their prospects and clients to grow their businesses.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Writing about yourself can be a struggle. Its hard to have the distance to explain who you are and what you do. I often help clients write About pages for their websites, bios, and even express their thoughts in legacy letters that express their philosophies as a gift for their friends and families. I also ghostwrite articles and blog posts, write feature stories and help people with editing projects. I work with entrepreneurs and corporate clients to create content strategies and then help them create the pieces, including website copy, blog posts, sales letters, brochure copy, and e-mail campaigns.
