- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically, I base my pricing on the unique needs and scope of bookkeeping services required by each client. I usually provide a flat monthly rate, taking into account the volume and complexity of the bookkeeping tasks. This allows clients to plan and budget for our fees effectively. I always provide a detailed proposal and pricing breakdown before beginning any work, so clients know exactly what they are paying for. I also offer discounts for clients who opt for ongoing bookkeeping services, such as monthly or quarterly check-ins. Additionally, I may provide discounts for clients who refer new business to me. However, each pricing arrangement is unique to the client's specific needs and will be discussed and agreed upon before any work begins.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new bookkeeping client, my typical process involves several steps: Initial Consultation: The first step is to have an initial consultation with the client to discuss their business, their bookkeeping needs, and their goals. Gathering Information: I then gather all the necessary information from the client, including bank statements, receipts, invoices, and other financial documents. Setup: Once I have all the necessary information, I will set up the client's bookkeeping system in my accounting software, ensuring that everything is properly categorized and organized. Ongoing Bookkeeping: I will then begin performing ongoing bookkeeping services, which may include reconciling bank and credit card statements, recording transactions, and preparing financial statements. Communication: Throughout the process, I maintain open communication with the client to ensure that they are informed about the status of their bookkeeping and to answer any questions they may have. Review and Analysis: Finally, I will review and analyze the client's financial statements to identify areas where they can improve their financial performance and provide advice and guidance as needed. Overall, my goal is to provide clients with accurate and timely bookkeeping services that help them make informed decisions about their business and achieve their financial goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My journey into the world of accounting and bookkeeping began with the accounting courses I took in college. I found that I enjoyed the subject matter and wanted to explore it further. That's when I decided to become a Certified Bookkeeper, which I achieved by completing a training program through Universal Accounting in 1997. As a Certified Bookkeeper, I have been able to assist small and medium-sized businesses with their bookkeeping needs, including maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. I have worked with a variety of clients over the years and have gained valuable experience in the field. I have also been a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor since 2011. This certification has allowed me to become an expert in QuickBooks software, which is one of the most popular bookkeeping and accounting programs used by small and medium-sized businesses today. As a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, I am able to assist my clients with everything from setting up and customizing their QuickBooks accounts to troubleshooting technical issues and providing training and support. My expertise in QuickBooks allows me to work efficiently and effectively, which saves my clients time and money in the long run. In 2019, I became a certified Value Builder Consultant, which has allowed me to expand my expertise beyond bookkeeping and accounting. As a Value Builder Consultant, I work with business owners to help them create more value in their business by looking at their business from a different perspective and making adjustments that will help increase the overall value of the business. My combined expertise in accounting, bookkeeping, and value building has allowed me to provide my clients with a unique set of skills that can help them achieve their financial goals.
