FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We do discount our rates considerably. Please do understand that good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good. Prints are always quoted separately; however, we only work with true master printers and guarantee quality or your post-deposit is waived! (How cool is that?!?!?!?)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing we do is try to understand what you are aiming for with your shots; we love ideas. No, seriously: WE LOVE IDEAS. That being said, we have a few of our own which we think you'll love and our brainstorming sessions are ALWAYS fun if tit ever gets for tat in the fresh ideas department. Trust me, we got you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Psychology, summa cum laude. How is this relevant to photography -glad you asked: There is a word in the Spanish language called "duende" or the feeling of strong emotion one feels when viewing something of intense beauty. With my background in understanding global cultures through my elective classes in anthropology, this has helped me to view my clients from their lens in terms of what will help bring them the most joy from the completed product. After first being published in the 8th grade for writing, my step-father, a graduate from BYU Hawaii's school of photography before it was renamed to BYU in the 70s, taught me my camera. I learned framing and composition from him since the age of 15 years. His son, a man whom I have yet to ever have a real argument with since the age of 10 and a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, taught me Photoshop and I have been active in the program since 4.0 (just before the dot com crash). I come from the Tradeshow Industry as an Account Executive so the importance of understanding a client's key messaging goals and outcomes will really shine with corporate events and product shoots. We have owned and multiple print and online publications but my heart has always been in the studio or out in the field shooting. What can I say: Shooters shoot.
