Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have a very extensive background in multiple genres of music. While my training is as a classical musician (and this is what I put a majority of my time into), my years as a Nashville Studio musician have led to many incredible experiences with Rock, Country, and Jazz to name a few. Combined with my experience teaching a wide array of students, from age 3 to 70 and including those with special needs, I feel adept in almost any teaching situation. As a performer, I've had international travel experience where I've worked with US embassies, and I understand the actual business of music as opposed to just musical knowledge. My teaching philosophy: I believe in the importance of finding one's purpose as well as recognizing the obligation that's implicit with this discovery. I count myself very fortunate to have found meaning in both music and teaching and even more privileged to observe that the best way to teach and inspire is to be a student oneself. I love to teach-I love seeing my passion for music mirrored in my students. It is this outlook that serves as my model for guiding and mentoring students down this journey in life. I view a student's well-being and progress not only as my job, but also as the obligation referred to above. It is always my goal to establish a positive learning environment, and by so doing express the importance of disciplined practice while always making it fun! As is stated above, I see myself as a student of music and always will. I am constantly delving into musical literature, whether its history, theory, or psychology of music. This always enables me to bring new things to the table when teaching and helps in making practical applications towards whatever music my students want to study.

Personal review of Patrick Worley After I retired I decided to play my four string banjo again which I hadn’t played for over 30 years. I decided to do this since my wife plays the harp and this would be a good way to help us do something new together. I went online and did a search for a 4 string banjo instructor and Patrick’s name appeared. I sent an e-mail to Patrick which he responded to quickly and we setup a date to start lessons. One of the first things I noticed about Patrick was his flexibility in being able to come to my home instead of me going to his studio. I requested this since my wife wanted to take Guitar lessons as well and coming to my home made it easier to do this. I was quite nervous since I hadn’t touched my banjo for a long time but Patrick made me feel at ease and we got started. What really amazed me was the amount of knowledge Patrick possesses. I wanted to learn music theory as well as play the banjo and every question I asked, Patrick was able to answer without hesitation. I have to admit that I am not the easiest person to pick things up but Patrick has been very patient with me and will do whatever is necessary to help me progress even if we change course a bit. A few weeks into the lessons Patrick did not have his 4 string banjo since it needed repair but instead brought his Mandolin since it had the same strings as the banjo. The mandolin in fact has two strings each of G, D, A, and E which are the same strings as the 4 string banjo so everything I learned on the banjo would apply to the mandolin as well. This is where my enthusiasm really began to peak since the mandolin sounds great with the harp. I decided to buy my own mandolin and put more emphasis on it then the banjo with the understanding that anything I learned on the mandolin will apply in most instances to the 4 string banjo. Patrick was very supportive of me in doing this. I don’t want to get to wordy here but in only a few months with the mandolin, I was able to play in front of 50 people accompanying someone else playing the guitar. I need to emphasize that I am 67 years old. I received my 4 string banjo in 1964. I never once took the banjo out of my home. With Patrick I was not only able to learn the things I needed to but gained a good deal of confidence in myself to get up in front of people which is really stepping out of my comfort zone. To summarize, I highly recommend Patrick Worley to anyone who is interested in learning how to play the Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, and any other instrument that Patrick knows how to play. Patrick can teach you how to read music, learn music theory, and play the instrument with a very good feeling of confidence.

I took lessons from Patrick for at least two years and he was very instrumental in my progress. If you are looking for a classically trained teacher as well as one who can also teach beginners in accoustic or electric, then Patrick is the person to contact.
