Mr. Carl Kuiper of Ck Maintenance just completed an extensive repair and refurbishment of my front porch as well as some exterior brick masonry work. This was an especially challenging job since my house is over 100 years old and the repair area was seriously deteriorated. I knew shortly after he arrived that I had hired the right person. He carefully listened to what I needed and immediately knew exactly how to accomplish it. In 10 hours, virtually without a break, over a 2 day period, he was focused entirely on my job. The end results are simply fabulous, way above and beyond all expectations I had. The cost was far below what I thought it would be and well below the other estimates I got. Before he left we talked a lot about other repair and remodeling jobs I'll have in the coming months in this old house, and I guarantee you he's the only person I'll call. Mr. Kuiper is prompt, courteous, friendly, professional, and incredibly skilled at what he does. I give him the strongest possible recommendation and urge you to hire him for any job you have.
I'll summarize this by saying this was the best experience I have ever had working with a contractor, and Capital Contractors will have my business for any project moving forward. My project was to have a pallet wall installed behind a bar area in my finished basement/man cave. That idea grew to also installing pallet wood around an island, and behind a dart board down there as well. I received several responses over Thumbtack and seriously considered three of the companies. While the estimates were all reasonable, my decision to go with Capital Contractors came down to the obvious pride A.J. McDonald and his partner Kris took in their work. They were passionate and excited as we talked through my vision, and were open completing the job however I wanted. They were true to their word in their attention to detail. Their craftsmanship was second to none, and they left a spotless work area. To top it off A.J. and Kris seem like legitimate and sincere good guys - very likable and trustworthy. Long story short, from the estimate through the completed project, Capital Contractors exceeded my expectations at every turn. I am offering my highest recommendation to family, friends, and anyone reading this. Normally I use Thumbtack to find multiple estimates for a given job, but in this case I found THE company I will be hiring for any project I need done moving forward.
We hired Steve for a few projects around the house, including altering existing built-ins, installing risers into an open staircase and mounting a heavy piece to our plaster wall. Not only did he start the projects quickly, he completed them in a timely manner and did a great job. He did exactly what we wanted... but better -- bringing creative ideas and solutions that we hadn't thought of to make the finished product look great. We will hire him again.
We hired Erik Johnsen of The Fantasy Workshop to complete several jobs for us before we put our house on the market. He was incredibly helpful in identifying what he thought should and could get done in a day's time. He was able to help us complete these projects quite quickly, as we were under a tight timeline. As promised, he was punctual and incredibly efficient. He arrived to our house early, ready to get down to work. He changed out our old kitchen faucet, fixed the hinges on two doors (returning the doors to full functioning capacity), repaired a wood bench, painted the risers on our stairs, and painted our door. He also fixed several light fixtures in the house. This is work that would have cost us quite a bit of time to do ourselves, and we would not have done it with the care or attention that Erik provided. Our house looks polished and ready for a listing. Finally, he is a kind person and his prices were incredibly fair. I would use him again for any job. I strongly recommend him to anyone needing looking for a painter or handyman. I only regret that we are moving, and won't be able to use him again in the future.
John did a great job for my wife and I. He painted our entryway, downstairs bathroom, and up the stairs through the hallway. He even installed trim upstairs and fixed the molding in the bathroom. We would definitely consider him for future projects.
Marty is a definite "must hire". Quote was itemized and detailed so no hidden costs and the total cost was more than reasonable. New stairs had to be built on-site and they turned out absolutely beautiful. I will be hiring him again without hesitation.
We had an amazing experience with Tony! After having issues with the last two contractors I have hired, I was hesitant to once again try and hire a new project out to an unknown contractor...But luckily Tony restored my faith in honest professional hardworking contractors who take pride in their work and their finished products. I was offered/accepted a job out of state and I hired Tony to refinish my basement, bathroom, install new upstairs railings/spindles and at the last second also had him refinish our hardwood floors so we can put our house on the market and to say we are happy would be an understatement. Tony went above and beyond to accommodate us from day one and he understood or time constraints and the issues of moving out state pose. So much so l, that when a miscommunication (100% my fault) arose, Tony came to my house on a Sunday morning to make sure I was happy. Name a contractor that would work a full Sunday because of a customers own misinterpretation? Well Tony did when he didn't have to just to make things right in my eyes. Tony was also spot on in all of his estimates and didn't suddenly start adding a $4 nail here or a $7 bolt here but rather stayed right on track the whole time! I would, and already have, recommend Tony for any job you may have. My only regret is that we didn't find Tony sooner! PS- I think the only ones that were happier with Tony being in the house doing the work were the dogs!
Adam did a great job installing new vinyl hand rails on our front porch. We had good communication leading up to the installation and the overall experience was very positive.
What a great value for a 12x20 deck with enhanced trex decking! 12 ft stairs one side and 3 ft stairs on the other, everything for $6,600! You just can't beat that, Greg is very knowledgeable and helps make the decision process easy, from the layout to pick the materials. Would definitely hire again.
We had a problem: our lovable kitten became a wily cat who finally destroyed our porch screens and tasted (temporary) freedom! Lucky for us, Mark had a solution: Pet Screen. Mark has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the products he uses. The makers of Pet Screen should use him in a commercial! Our cat doesn't like the feel of the screen on her claws but will still climb to chase bugs. Pet Screen withstands 9.5 pounds of wild calico without a snag! Mark and his brother replaced rotted wood and repainted, giving the porch a brand-new look. On top of that, Mark saved us hundreds by extending the life of our 25-year-old deck for as long as 10 years with a special paint (regret that I can't recall its name) after replacing a rotted plank. He helped choose a color complimentary to our home. We found Mark and his brother very pleasant and polite at all times, arriving for work in a timely manner. They are very concerned about the quality of their work and did a post-project checkup after being paid. I think that speaks to their integrity. We would definitely hire Mark in the future.
Hired norm to do some repairs on a property that i was purchasing stairs had to be repainted some missing trims and sidings had to be installed and i gotta say norm is a pretty dependable and respectable guy loved the quality of work he did on the house everything looked just perfect and his price is very very reasonable cant complain.. Would definitely rehire him for future work.
Kalub Bleyl has done many jobs on my home. I have been using BLEYL'S home improvement for for 3 years now. They have done a metal roof, sided my house, has installed new construction windows, and they have also installed new hard wood floors. I would reccomend this company to anyone. Not only is the quality of the work very good but the prices are great also.
Brain was very friendly, professional, and prompt. I had a new slide in range that would not fit into the cutout in my granite countertops. Rather than cutting the counters and creating a big mess of hazardous dust, as another contractor had recommended, Brian came up with a way to reposition my granite without cutting and making room for the range. Being pregnant, I was extra grateful that he was able to come up with a safe alternative. The counters and range look perfect. He also charged a fair price that was exactly what he had quoted me, which I really appreciated. I am planning to hire Brian for more repairs in the near future.
Neil Peterson did an outstanding job! He created access to the attic in our house by cutting and framing an opening in our upstairs ceiling and then installed stairs. He also did finishing work so that the installation blended perfectly with the decor of the rest of the house. He was very professional, courteous, excellent in his attention to details and charged very reasonably. I would hire him for future work without hesitation.
Charles was professional and punctual. He got the job done (installing a few railings for me) for less than I thought and was a pleasure to work with. I will definitely hire him again.
