It is my design philosophy that a person’s surroundings directly affect how they feel each day. For that reason I specialize in creating beautiful, functional and comfortable rooms that are contemporary, colorful and completely uplifting! I can transform your space in person or remotely through E-Design and Email. When all is done, you will be in LOVE with your beautiful end result! What I love most about my job is the satisfaction I feel when my client's love their new space and I know I helped them achieve it. It's very rewarding!

I met with Nanette for a consultation. When she looked around at my home that has been gutted due to the tidal surge of Hurricane Sandy, I think she was a bit taken aback. But about 15 seconds later, she was brimming with enthusiasm and creative ideas. I've hired Nanette to transform 3 out of the 4 rooms that were destroyed by the flood. I know that Nanette's ideas and efforts will help turn my dreams into realities. August 29, 2013: An update to my review in February I hit the jackpot when I hired Nanette Baker to help me with the interior design. This woman is a magician. She listened carefully to my ideas and showed me pictures to ascertain my tastes and preferences. After getting a sense of what I wanted, Nanette presented me with suggestions that were thoughtful, doable and elegant. Nanette has a knack for finding the most beautiful fabric, furniture and accessories. She does most of the leg work herself, but also works with an incredible network of talented professionals. When Nanette started working with me, all she saw was sheetrock and subfloors. Our entire living space was barren and raw. Nanette uses a computer imaging to integrate photos of actual rooms with renditions of how the finished rooms would look with the vision she has in mind. This has been a godsend for someone like me who has trouble visualizing. We started with a gorgeous rug she found for the t.v. room. We then built the whole room around the style and colors of the rug. The room is now a masterpiece. People walk in, sit down and dont want to leave. The t.v. room flowed into a room I hoped to make into an office. Nanette recommended Custom Closets Direct and this room is now the most amazing and functional 2 person home office. Our last challenge was the living room. From the window treatments (done by Barry at Silhouette Window Treatment) to the sleeper sofa, lamps, carpet, custom pillows and more, the room is now beyond magnificent. I've spent the last few weeks showing off my new home to friends and family. They have all oohed and aahhed and are amazed at the transformation. We were not lucky to have been flooded, but we have been incredibly blessed to have found Nanette. She is a true treasure.

Nanette Baker of Interiors by Nanette exceeded all my expectations! She is a total delight to work with, always making herself available and responding to questions in a prompt and timely manner. She puts her clients' needs first and advocates diligently on their behalf. We used the services of Nanette for window treatments and color design on our kitchen renovation. Nanette's amazing attention to detail and responsiveness was impeccable. Nanette thrives to fully satisfy her clients. She is extremely professional and trustworthy. Nanette listens and looks at the whole picture in her design technique. Her choice of colors and fabrics not only brought the kitchen together but coincided to make my entire first floor blend elegantly. Simply put, Nanette of Interiors by Nanette is a gem. We hired Nanette to assist us in redoing our den a makeover that was long overdue. She was a true professional expertly guiding us through the selection of carpet, furniture, accessories and paint. Her knowledge of decorating, style and color was extremely reassuring and her good humor, patience and attention to detail very much appreciated. I am currently working through Ethan Allen where my design services are complimentary! You can't beat that!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Customers either visit me first at the Ethan Allen showroom, where we discuss the client's needs and look at products, or I can visit the home first and discuss project goals first and take measurements, etc. Then I design a beautiful space for the client. After that, a presentation and buying appointment takes place at the Ethan Allen showroom.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been trained at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and New York Institute of Technology.
