FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to speak with my prospective student on the phone to get an idea of what he or she is looking for in a tutor. This initial call, while frequently lasting over 20 or more minutes is totally free and without any obligation. I try to learn something about my student's goals and prepare lectures and work sessions to help my student achieve their goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed an Undergraduate major in Chemistry but also completed enough credits in both Physics and Math for a major in each of these fields as well. I was pre-med and completed a Medical Scientist Training program receiving two Masters, a PhD and an MD. I completed Internal Medicine Residency and a Cardiology Fellowship and was Faculty at Johns Hopkins, Yale, Columbia and Upstate Medical.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I retired early to return to my father's home to help care for him as he became ill. This became a full time job but did leave me time to tutor. I have always had an academic lean and have been teaching in one form or another since I myself was in High School.
