Introduction: I don't just design a sequence for you to mimic; I teach you about what your body is doing while you move it, how your bones and muscles fit together, what the common pitfalls are, and how to make a pose work for your body, not the other way around. I'm trained in anatomy and pay special attention to explaining the cues you always hear other teachers gloss over, so you'll never leave a session wondering if you missed something. I'm also pretty dang funny. I'm also trained in restorative yoga -- called "fancy nap time" by some, though deep relaxation is hard work too. If you need help decompressing and connecting your breath to your body more gently, this is the practice for you. My favorite thing is acquainting people with their bodies; I'm still getting to know mine, years after beginning a yoga practice, and it continues to change. I live in my head a lot of the time -- when I'm not teaching yoga, I'm a writer and editor -- so discovering brain-body points of contact and helping my students find them too is immensely satisfying.
