Shebby is a proven general contractor with years of experience, licensed and insured — I checked beforehand because a few other contractors who quoted me weren't. Some even tried passing off regular aggregate concrete as granite to justify a higher price. Shebby gave me a fair, honest quote from the start, and had real granite experience to back it up — he showed me actual samples before we signed anything. He clearly cares about his reputation and doing the job right, and was professional throughout. Demo was done in a single day, and once the granite was fabricated, work moved quickly and didn't drag out. He didn't cut corners anywhere. The broken section — where water had been seeping into the structure through cracks in the old steps and damaging the brick underneath — got fully addressed: he replaced the damaged treads with granite, rebuilt the affected brick risers with matching brick, and waterproofed everything so it won't happen again. He was on-site supervising the work throughout, and any time something needed adjusting, he caught it and corrected it himself rather than leaving it for later. He stood behind the work too — told me directly to call him if anything ever comes up with the stone or the workmanship, and it's backed by a workmanship guarantee plus a warranty on the granite itself in the contract. The finished steps look fantastic, the site was left clean, and the whole job wrapped up quickly, right in line with what he estimated. I'd absolutely work with him again.
